To simplify the preparation of health insurance forms, we provide patients with a “superbill,” which contains information about the type of visit, reason for treatment, treatment administered, and cost of medical services— all the information insurance companies need from the doctor. Insurance companies typically send payment directly to us, and we credit the patient’s account. Patients who themselves receive payment from an insurance company will be billed for any remaining balance. Please note that most insurance companies do not cover the entire medical bill. While we do everything in our power to receive the reimbursement we are entitled to, the patient is ultimately responsible for settling the account.
